FIRE MICHAEL LAWS

The 'Glen Beck' of New Zealand Michael Laws has done it again. Not content with the standard facist line of hate, bigotry, jingoism and neo-colonialism this angry white male has called for 'The Final Solution', sterilize the underclass. Check out the Post story at Stuff. This is intolerable and all NZers of conscious need to put a stop to it. That's why I'm calling for a letter campaign to Radio Live and Sunday Star Times to demand he resign.

This kind of open unabashed vile hatred has no place within a society of liberal principles of universality, equality and freedom. We should not only reject his ideas but reject the idea that we should even have this conversation. This has no place in the public discourse, would you like to hear someone debating whether rape should be legal, or sodomites be flogged. This is the level at which Laws is operating.

Particularly shameful in this case is the support of Radio Live for this 'man'. Trying to get some of that Jon Stewart edgyness, they claim to facilitate interesting ideas and debates. There is no debate to be had unless we wish to fundamentally undermine the core substance of democracy and subject the vulnerable to further maliciousness and debasement.

I urge you to write a sincere letter the good old fashioned way to the following:

Radio Live
PO Box 8880
Symonds St
Auckland
New Zealand

Sunday Star Times
attn: the Editor
PO Box 1327
Auckland 1140

Talk to some family lawyers or social workers who see first hand how bad some parents are.

As Steven Pinker wrote in the NY Times earlier this year, behavioural traits are significantly heritable and even if they weren’t, these kids being raised by terrible parents will end up like them.

Laws’ suggestion is sensible to stop abuse – at the very least people should be offered incentives by WINZ to people to use contraception.

Otherwise you get a future demographic disaster as these kids end up in crime & leading dysfunctional lives.

People who hold utopian views about the perfectibility of some parents need to spend some time seeing the abuse of these kids.

Hear, hear Michael Laws.

The most insightful solution I have heard in decades: encourage bad people not to have kids ... what's the problem with that!

Michael Laws for Prime Minister.
