Dr Brendan Hokowhitu of Te Tumu joins us to discuss the government's signing on to the UN Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Surely its been a good news for all non-reactionary New Zealanders. The attempts to contain the significance of this document to mere symbolism and aspirations don't sound convincing. Surely this will help frame and reaffirm all future struggles for self-determination. We put these issues to Brendan.
